Ile de Ré has more than 110 kilometers of cycle paths. Young and old will be able to discover the island in complete safety by bike.
Walks in the great outdoors The salt marshes
Around a hundred salt workers perpetuate the tradition and unique know-how to produce salt. We advise you to go to the ecomuseum of the Ile de Ré salt marsh, open from March until the end of November, to learn more about salt farming and on production techniques.
Monuments to see Exceptional sites
When you visit the Ile de Ré, don't miss these must-see attractions. Take a tour of the Whale Lighthouse, from its height of 60 meters, it will offer you a delightful view of the entire region. Visit the Atelier Quillet which has been restoring, conserving and binding old documents since the end of the 20th century. Discover the oldest fortification on the Ile de Ré, by going to Fort la Prée. End with a visit to a vestige, classified as a historic monument, the Abbaye des Châteliers.
With family, friends, athletes or as a couple Activities for everyone
From the beaches of Ile de Ré, you can indulge in relaxation and sunbathing, swim or practice a nautical activity such as jet skiing, surf kit and fishing on foot. You can also take a nice stroll along the water, by renting a boat. For a fun visit with children, go to the “ânes en culottes” in Saint-Martin-de-Ré, you can leave with a milk soap from donkey and discover one of the symbols of the island.
